The Société des amis de Marcel Proust et des amis de Combray is pleased to offer Bulletin d'informations proustiennes No. 53, published in 2023, at a special rate before it hits bookstores on November 17th.

In 2023, as usual, the BIP features a substantial dossier of unpublished material: several letters to various correspondents; narrative fragments of Les Plaisirs et les Jours, Jean Santeuil and la Recherche, preserved at the University of Illinois; and drafts of the decisive article in Le Figaro and its dispatch to Daniel Halévy, "Sentiments filiaux d'un parricide".

The thematic dossier compiled by Pauline Moret-Jankus is devoted this year to the question of a 'forbidden' Proust, from self-censorship to social censorship.

On the subject of genesis, there are also analyses by the editors of Cahier 7 and a study of Proust's dissertations as a laboratory for his literary project, while Jean-Yves Tadié takes an interest in the short sentence. As always, the issue contains "Notes de lecture" (reading notes) reporting on the latest publications, as well as the "Sales", "Events" and "Publications" sections for a year 2022 that was particularly rich, due to the centenary commemorations.

The Bulletin d'informations proustiennes has a retail price of €30 (€28.5 + €1.5 postage to all destinations).

The Bulletin d'informations proustiennes (BIP), a journal now under the direction of Sophie Duval and Guillaume Perrier, reports each year on the work undertaken by the Proust team of the Institut des textes et manuscrits modernes (CNRS/ENS) in the fields of the genesis, edition and interpretation of Marcel Proust's work. For the past fifteen years, the journal has regularly presented unpublished works. The second part of the Bulletin d'informations proustiennes is devoted to the Notes de lecture and to the detailed chronicle of Proustian sales, events and publications of the year.
