The Société des Amis de Marcel Proust et des Amis de Combray
Founded in 1947, the Société des Amis de Marcel Proust et des Amis de Combray brings together readers of Proust from around the world and works to promote and disseminate his work.
Its activities include organising conferences and study days, publishing the Bulletin Marcel Proust — the annual journal of reference in Proustian studies —, running literary competitions (pastiche competitions, read-aloud competitions), and managing the Maison de Tante Léonie – Musée Marcel Proust in Illiers-Combray, a listed literary landmark that inspired the Combray of In Search of Lost Time.
The Société is a non-profit association under French law (loi 1901). Its collections at the Maison de Tante Léonie hold the Musées de France label.
