Article 1 – Purpose and scope

These terms and conditions of sale govern all purchases made through the online shop of the Société des Amis de Marcel Proust et des Amis de Combray. Placing an order implies full and unconditional acceptance of these terms.

Article 2 – Products

Products on offer include: the Society's publications (Bulletin Marcel Proust, brochures, books), memberships, and objects available at the Maison de Tante Léonie bookshop. Product descriptions and images are provided for information purposes only.

Article 3 – Prices

All prices are in euros. The Society is not subject to VAT; prices displayed are final. Postage costs are shown separately before final order confirmation.

Article 4 – Orders

An order is confirmed once these terms have been accepted and payment received. A confirmation email is sent within 24 hours. Orders of €120 or more are retained by the Society for a minimum of 10 years in accordance with French law.

Article 5 – Payment

Payment is accepted by credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard) or PayPal, processed by certified providers. No payment data is stored by the Society.

Article 6 – Delivery

Full delivery information is available on the Delivery page. Some products are dispatched directly by their publisher; this is indicated on the relevant product page.

Article 7 – Right of withdrawal

Under EU consumer law, you have 14 days from receipt of your order to withdraw without giving any reason or incurring any penalty. Return postage is at your expense. Refunds are issued within 14 days of receiving the returned goods. Exclusions apply to memberships once activated and to unsealed products that cannot be returned for hygiene reasons.

Article 8 – Legal warranties

All products are covered by the statutory warranty of conformity and the warranty against hidden defects under French consumer and civil law.

Article 9 – Complaints and mediation

All complaints should be addressed to boutique@amisdeproust.fr. If no satisfactory response is received within 60 days, you may refer the matter free of charge to the consumer mediator: FEVADwww.mediateur-fevad.com. EU online dispute resolution: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

Article 10 – Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute shall fall under the jurisdiction of the competent French courts.
